Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated intern to assist presenters with the Virtual Environmental Education Field Day presentations. The intern would work with each presenter and assist them with designing their presentation, in addition to ensuring presenters have all the necessary tools to successful give their presentation.
About Project
We offer a number of educational opportunities and events throughout the school year for Pre-K – 12th-grade students. Contests, events, presentations, activities, camps and more are an ongoing part of the whole year. Our annual Environmental Field Days are designed to give third grade students the opportunity to meet resource professionals in various fields, participate in hands-on science activities and learn about nature and the environment in a natural setting. The learning opportunities for the students meet several grade level competencies set by the NC Department of Public Instruction.
Eligibility & Requirements
Interns must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Must be 17 years old or older OR enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college/university.
Have an interests in the work of the DSWCD
Based in North Carolina
Interns will need access to:
Computer
Reliable internet
Reliable transportation on April 13th to film field day presentations.
COVID Considerations
The majority of this project will be completed remotely, with an exception for the April 13th filming day. During the presentation filming, all presenter and interns in attendance will be required to wear PPE and maintain social distancing (6 feet).
