Position Overview
We are seeking an intern to assist with content development for our 2021 Environmental Education Virtual Field Day Event. The Environmental Communications Intern will be responsible for filming, producing videos, and composing advertising materials for the virtual field day event. In addition to distributing the content to local school districts.
About Project
The DSWCD's Environmental Education Field Day is an annual event held for third graders throughout Durham. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the district is tasked with converting the event into a virtual field day. We aspire to make this event as engaging and fun as possible for Durham students. The field day is designed to enable students to meet resource professionals in various fields, participate in hands-on science activities and learn about nature and the environment in a natural setting.
Eligibility & Requirements
Interns must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Must be 17 years old or older OR enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college/university.
Have an interests in the work of the DSWCD
Based in North Carolina
Interns will need access to:
Computer
Reliable internet
Reliable transportation on April 13th to film field day presentations.
COVID Considerations
The majority of this project will be completed remotely, with an exception for the April 13th filming day. During the presentation filming, all presenters and interns in attendance will be required to wear PPE and maintain social distancing (6 feet).
